HORNBY ISLAND ARTS

My Work is inspired by the old culture of Hungary where I was born, by most of the European countries I visited: Bulgaria, Greece, Poland, France, Italy, England, Ireland, etc. and by the natural beauty of the Canadian West coast,

As a self taught artist I started to paint in 1993 on Hornby Island where I have been residing since 1991. Within a year I was showing my paintings in local galleries and curated shows.

Working primarily with acrylic, the subjects I use constantly changing from imaginary scenes, wildlife, portraits to landscapes.

My goal is to create interesting visual images that still have beauty, to capture the essence of the moment and to portray human emotion. Through my dedication and focus, I created a body of work that represents the development of my style and my work.

In the last 10 years I participated in numerous individual , group , curated and juried shows. In 2002 I received a certificate of artistic merit. Currently my work is represented in Nanaimo by Nanaimo Downtown Art Gallery, on Hornby Island in the Hornby Island Artist Run Gallery and in Arbutus Art at Ford's Cove.
